Elgibility Requirements

  • You can enroll in an Essential Plan at any time of the year
  • To qualify for an Essential Plan, your individual income must be between $17,609-$25,520
  • Essential Plans are for adults only between the ages of 19 and 64. If married, each person must purchase their own plan.
  • Essential Plans are available within the eight downstate counties: Bronx, Kings, Manhattan, Nassau, Queens, Richmond, Suffolk and Westchester
  • Enrollment in Essential Plans is retroactive: if you enroll before the 15th of the month, that whole month will be covered. Regardless of the date, the entire month of termination will be covered.
